Data-driven technologies, such as artificial intelligence and internet of things, deeply transform virtually all areas of business and the society. Generating, processing, and using data became the key value drivers for local and internationally engaged companies. Leaders of tomorrow have to integrate digital technologies in all their decisions and need competencies to evaluate their activities from a managerial, ethical, and technological perspective. The Bachelor in Management & Data Science provides a flexible toolkit to holistically incorporate and use data-driven innovations for managerial decision-making.
The Bachelor in Management and Data Science is the perfect choice for highly motivated students who want to become responsible managers in the digital age. We are looking for high-school graduates who are interested in managerial and societal challenges and who are enthusiastic to find innovative data-based solutions for them. We presume intrinsic interest in quantitative methods, passion for holistic thinking, and fluent English. A strong motivation to open-mindedly discuss contemporary challenges with people from various countries and disciplines as well as the passion to create new solutions are essential.
This interdisciplinary study program offers students the unique opportunity to dive deep into contemporary managerial challenges and to explore the latest data-driven technologies to solve them. Located in Heilbronn, which is one of the most prospering hubs for artificial intelligence in Europe, the Bachelor in Management and Data Science is embedded in the network of the TUM School of Management. In this six-semester program with 180 ECTS, students earn managerial competencies to become responsible decision makers in the digital age. The program contains interactive small-class lectures, exercises, discussion based seminars, excursions, and research projects. All modules of the study program seamlessly integrate managerial and technological aspects, stimulating a holistic perspective on data-driven business challenges. Thereby, students acquire competencies in all major fields of management and learn how data science can be efficiently used in a digitally transforming business environment. A strong normative fundament and quantitative competencies qualify students to conduct own research projects to create data-driven management solutions. Real-world projects with leading companies and multifaceted electives – with a particular focus on digital transformation and family enterprise – promote a customized study experience.
