AI@Work

The AI@‌WORK conference took place at the TUM School of Management and brought together leaders from academia, business, and politics to explore how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing leadership, work, and collaboration.

Hosted by Dean Professor Gunther Friedl, Professor Isabell Welpe (TUM Chair for Strategy and Organization), Prof. Dr. Theresa Treffers, and Steffi Czerny (DLD Conference), the event features discussions on AI’s impact on various industries, with contributions from renowned experts worldwide.

The conference started with German Federal Minister for Digital and Transport Volker Wissing discussing AI’s potential to boost productivity and solve labor shortages, particularly in healthcare and logistics.
Bavarian Minister for Science & Culture, Markus Blume, highlighted Bavaria’s position as a hub for AI excellence.

Key speakers include Professor Björn Ommer (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) on GenerativeAI.
Professor Ethan Mollick (The Wharton School) on AI, our future co-worker, co-teacher, and coach, as well as Dr. Barbara Karuth-Zelle (Allianz) on AI Upskilling, Professor Tessa West (New York University) addressing the role of humans vs. machines in understanding interpersonal interactions, and Peter Norvig (Google) on AI for Training and Continuing Education.

With a mix of in-person and virtual participation, the conference offers attendees exclusive insights and valuable networking opportunities with top minds from across the globe.
